TMD · Functional Diagnostics · Therapy

A jaw joint disorder or craniomandibular dysfunction, CMD for short, can cause very different symptoms: typical are nocturnal Teeth grinding or clenching, Jaw pain or clicking when chewing.

However, symptoms such as unexplained headaches, migraines, neck or back pain, and sleep disorders can also be caused by TMD. A targeted Functional diagnostics helps identify the exact triggers.

Other possible symptoms include ear pain, dizziness, or tinnitus. Through an individually tailored CMD therapy these symptoms can be treated specifically and relieved in the long term.

Small splint, big impact: Splint therapy for CMD

As diverse as the symptoms are, the treatment is equally individual. At DENTALOGICUM we apply the Splint therapy for TMD very successful in most patients.

For this we will adapt a bite splint for the upper and lower jaw, which we have manufactured in our in-house dental laboratory. The occlusal splint relieves the temporomandibular joint through its special shape, which corrects the bite and relaxes the muscles in the face and neck area.

Furthermore, it protects the teeth against wear and damage during Bruxism, by evenly distributing the pressure during nighttime teeth grinding.

If needed, we work together with a physical therapy practice. You can make appointments directly in the Book DENTALOGICUM.
